2018 Temescal Street Fair

On June 10th, Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District hosted our 15th Anniversary Temescal Street Fair from 12-6pm! This event featured live music on three different stages with great food from popular Temescal eateries and mobile food vendors. We also had craft beer and scores of artisans at our FREE Festival which celebrated its 15th Anniversary! Oakland’s acclaimed Kinetic Arts Center Circus Stage featured high-energy, high-flying artistic performances by local dare-devil aerialists, acrobats and clowns which thrilled the crowd. Also, many onlookers checked out the 100+ local artisan booths and learned about local business and community organizations.

The 51st Street Salsa in the Street stage featured sizzling salsa music and dancing which included Mario y su Timbeko playing live cuban salsa and DJ Antonio Chavez who spinned latin hits! We also had FREE salsa dance lessons by the experienced local dance teacher Ruth Caspary. Many of our favorite local musicians were back on Floyd Pellom’s Jazz Stage at 45th St, along with the Temescal Brewing‘s stage featuring the Queer First Fridays DJ, rap and vogue crew – DrowFlowJocquese Whitfield & MicahTron, plus Grand Avenue Soul. Families brought their kids to the Fun Zone and Carnival rides. We also had free Valet Bike parking by Spokes Bike Lounge.
Free to the public, and with easy access via MacArthur BART this festival was presented by the Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District.
