Clay is shaped alongside th e logic of the digital image. Canvas and dye meet the infinite repetitions of the screen print. Hand-printed marks exist in dialogue with systems ca pable of generating images in an instant.\nGates’ techniques accumulate in ways that resist a single point of origin.
