Birthland is an Oakland based, women of color owned, midwifery practice. Kiki Jordan began her midwifery career in 2005 after feeling disappointed in the prenatal care she’d been receiving at a nearby hospital during her own pregnancy. The Shot Shop specializes in portraits using the wet plate collodion process from the 1850s. Using natural light, Hasain works carefully to produce images that are handcrafted, one of a kind pieces of art.
