On Tuesday, March 19th, 6:00- 8:30pm, scintillate your palates with this culinary crawl around one of Temescal’s most delectable annual events! Bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening of food, drink, live music and fabulous prizes (including gift certificates to your favorite local eatery), along Telegraph Avenue from 40th to 52nd Streets, Temescal Alley, and Claremont Ave. This is a green event too!

San Francisco Beer Week 2019

Bay Area lovers of beer had their calendars marked for for San Francisco Beer Week 2019! From February 1-10, 2019, participating Oakland breweries and taprooms celebrated the most diverse beer week in the region. San Francisco Beer Week featured events which helped merchants engage with beer enthusiasts and new customers. Participating businesses offered special food and beer pairings, along with tours, beer releases and activites. Follow Oakland Restaurant Week 2019 on social media by following #SFBW19. We are thankful to have some delicious businesses here in the district who participating in this year’s San Francisco Beer Week.

Oakland Restaurant Week 2019

Bay Area foodies have been marking their calendars for Oakland Restaurant Week 2019! From January 11-21, 2019, participating Oakland restaurants will be celebrating the most diverse restaurant week in the region. Oakland Restaurant Week runs over two weekends for foodies to take full advantage of amazing dining deals. Participating restaurants will offer prix fixe lunch and/or dinner menus at $10, $20, $30, $40 and $50 price points. Follow Oakland Restaurant Week 2019 on social media by following #ORW19. Temescal Holiday Fair

The Temescal Telegraph BID was delighted to organize their second Temescal Holiday Fair: Creators & Critters. Bay Area shoppers were able to find beautiful and unique gifts while supporting Temescal’s independent artists. Once again, the Temescal Holiday Fair featured a FREE petting zoo and FREE photos with the animals! There was an alpaca, goats, pigs, bunnies, ducks, and more! Families and friends got together for that perfect holiday card and profile pic with the adorable barnyard animals!

BID Decorates Four More Utility Boxes

The painting of four additional utility boxes of Temescal flora, fauna and Ohlone culture, by artist Eduardo Valdez, was completed last month and is now visible for the public. This adds to the original 15 utility boxes which were also designed by Eduardo.

Temescal Trick or Treat

Kids of all ages and parents, come and stroll Telegraph Ave and collect treats from local merchants. Start at Ruby’s Garden Kidwear & Gift costume contest, trick and treat your way down to Flying Studios for their family dance party, make a mask over at The East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse and enter the apple bobbing contest at Ancient Ways!

Repave/Redesign of Telegraph – starting March 2, 2020

Oakland Department of Transportation (OakDOT) has announced that the construction for the Telegraph Ave paving and redesign will start March  2nd, 2020. In December 2018, the Repair Telegraph Ave. finalized design proposed by OakDOT staff was approved by Oakland City Council. The approved redesign of Telegraph Ave. between West MacArthur and 52nd St (aka Repair Telegraph) includes a road diet, parking protected bike lanes and a pedestrian plaza on Shattuck Ave. between 45th and 46th St.

Temescal Street Flicks 2018

Temescal Street Flicks 2018 was an engaging outdoor film series every Thursday evening in September in the heart of of Temescal near Temescal Alley. Sponsored by the Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement DistrictTemescal Street Flicks focused on showcasing local, independent and family-friendly films. The weekly outdoor films drew local Oakland residents and attendees from all over the Bay Area. Local independent-ish, family-friendly films about Oakland, and for Oaklanders!

Paint the Town Rainbow Crosswalks

On August 26th, The Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District (TTBID) was pleased to announce the installation of four temporary rainbow crosswalks at 66th St. and Telegraph in partnership with Oakland Pride and The White Horse Bar, to enhance the safety and vibrancy of the area, honor the White Horse Bar’s historical and current significance for the LGBTQ community, and celebrate Oakland as a proud LGBTQ-friendly city.
