Work on Telegraph Ave Pedestrian + Bike Improvements

The city will begin pedestrian and bike improvement construction on Telegraph, 29th to 45th this week. Funded by a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant, the city will install RRFBs at 41st, 43rd and 44th, and a raised concrete median refuge at 43rd and 44th. The project also includes the installation of buffered bike lanes and a road diet on Telegraph from 29th St to West MacArthur (the gap between Temescal and KONO bike lanes) and the installation of a raised concrete plaza area on the southern part of the new Shattuck Ave pedestrian plaza.

Construction Complete on 10 New Pedestrian Lights

The Temescal BID construction project to install ten new pedestrian lights on the east side of Telegraph Ave, between 51st and Aileen, is now complete!

This current phase of the BID’s pedestrian light capital project is funded by 5110 Telegraph Ave property owner lien fund contribution, as well as BID assessment funds. These ten new lights bring the number of pedestrian lights in the Temescal District to 177, all constructed by the Temescal BID, funded largely with BID property owner assessment fees, in addition to significant contributions from Skylyne at Temescal and MacArthur Commons secured as part of each development’s community benefit agreement.
