Downtown Streets Team Partnership

We are excited to announce that the Temescal Telegraph BID is partnering with Downtown Streets Team on a new pilot employment training program for unhoused individuals in Oakland called Team Work Oakland.
The Temescal BID will host two Team Work Oakland “Fellows,” as Ambassador trainees to help support and amplify the maintenance and community engagement services provided by the Temescal Ambassadors and Operations Manager Joey Harrison.
Team Work Oakland, which will run February – August 2021 in Temescal, is part of a second-tier work force development program for experienced DST Team Members and those who also trained with other beginner level programs, to advance their hands-on and specific training via this paid employment training program for unhoused persons in Oakland. DST Fellows will receive experience as Temescal Ambassadors, and additional trainings for service-specific skills, to help them succeed in their work in Temescal, and prepare trainees for success in permanent employment placements.
