The City of Oakland is proud to invite you to Bobby Seale Day on October 22, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM, honoring Bobby Seale, co-founder and founding chairman of the Black Panther Party, with the historic dedication of Bobby Seale Way at 57th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
This landmark event will unite community members, elected officials, cultural icons, and artists to celebrate Bobby Seale’s lifelong commitment to justice, self-determination, and the empowerment of the Black community.
The evening will feature:
Music and spoken word performances
Reflections on Bobby Seale’s enduring legacy
Introduction of the Future Black Panther Party Legacy Activation Program, a new initiative supporting youth literacy, leadership, and community uplift
Join in commemorating Bobby Seale’s 89th birthday and his profound impact on Oakland and the world.
