Participating Temescal restaurants, breweries and taprooms
Come celebrate SF Beer Week in Temescal! SF Beer Week is a collection of curated events, spanning multiple days, that celebrate craft beer and the craft beer community. With Hog’s Apothecary, Roses’ Taproom, Temescal Brewing, Lanesplitter Pizza and many other beer-centric businesses in the Temescal BID, SF Beer Week will be packed with dozens of events in Temescal.
Saturday, February 10 | Brewers in the Hot Seat | 2 – 5pm | Hog’s Apothecary | 375 40th St | FREE
This panel discussion features principles from four of California’s most highly regarded breweries: John Gillooly of Drake’s, Ting Su of Eagle Rock, Jim Harte of Ol’ Republic, and Collin McDonnell of HenHouse. The panel will moderated by “Bay Area Beer Guru” Sayre Piotrkowski and Chauncey Jackson, of BrewStuds and AllThingsBeer510. The twist: as the panel goes along, each participant must eat wings from progressively hotter plates of wings with each segment and only a select beer from their brewery to help them through the ordeal!
Join us first Sunday of SFBW 2018 for a beer crawl led by “Bay Area Beer Guru,” Sayre Piotrkowski, featuring Roses Taproom, Temescal Brewing, Hog’s Apothecary and ending at Arthur Mac’s Tap and Snack for Happy Hour where DJ Dennis Yadroff will preside over the debut of “Neon Rise” Triple Dry-Hopped Pale Bock Beer and also be behind the turn-tables!
Thursday, February 15 | Extra Sprinkles: A Beer And Vegan Donut Flight Night | 5 – 9pm | Temescal Brewing | 4115 Telegraph Ave. | Free Admission
Vegans, get ready: Temescal Brewing is teaming up with Oakland’s own Vegan Donut Gelato to spotlight their brand-new beer flights, for a pairing extravaganza, with a flight of four beers each matched with a half-donut from Vegan Donut’s collection. They’ll also have a special donut-themed cask beer available for one night only. And to prevent any sugar crashes, Sumaq Vegan will be in the house, serving up their bomb-ass vegan Peruvian food.
Friday, February 16 | 5th Annual Craftsman Brewing Showcase with Brewmaster Mark Jilg | 2:30-11:30pm | Hog’s Apothecary | 375 40th St. | Free Admission
The Hog’s Apothecary will showcase Craftsman’s Brewmaster Mark’s remarkable range by offering nine of his beers on tap at once; 3 core brands, 3 special release fresh beers and 3 oak-matured sour ales. The Craftsman himself, Mark Jilg will begin the day with an intimate talk and tasting at 2:30pm, essentially a guided tour through the one of craft beer’s most under-appreciated catalogs, lead by one of the industries few remaining iconoclasts. Craftsman beers to be featured: “Heavenly Hefe,” “1903” Lager, “Poppyfields” Pale Ale, Acorn Saison, Whisky Barrel-Aged “Gout Stout,” “Father Divine” Dunkelweizenbock, 2014 “Sour Grapes,” 2014 “El Prieto,” and “Angelino Weisse.”
Saturday, February 17 | Boomerang: A Queer Patio Party | 2 – 8pm | Temescal Brewing | 4115 Telegraph Ave. | Free Admission
