Start at Ruby’s Garden Kidwear & Gift costume contest, trick and treat your way down to Flying Studios for their family dance party, make a mask over at The East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse and enter the apple bobbing contest at Ancient Ways!
Repave/Redesign of Telegraph – starting March 2, 2020
Oakland Department of Transportation (OakDOT) has announced that the construction for the Telegraph Ave paving and redesign will start March 2nd, 2020. In December 2018, the Repair Telegraph Ave. finalized design proposed by OakDOT staff was approved by Oakland City Council. The approved redesign of Telegraph Ave. between West MacArthur and 52nd St (aka Repair Telegraph) includes a road diet, parking protected bike lanes and a pedestrian plaza on Shattuck Ave. between 45th and 46th St.
Temescal Street Flicks 2018
Temescal Street Flicks 2018 was an engaging outdoor film series every Thursday evening in September in the heart of of Temescal near Temescal Alley. Sponsored by the Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District, Temescal Street Flicks focused on showcasing local, independent and family-friendly films. The weekly outdoor films drew local Oakland residents and attendees from all over the Bay Area. Local independent-ish, family-friendly films about Oakland, and for Oaklanders!
Paint the Town Rainbow Crosswalks
On August 26th, The Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District (TTBID) was pleased to announce the installation of four temporary rainbow crosswalks at 66th St. and Telegraph in partnership with Oakland Pride and The White Horse Bar, to enhance the safety and vibrancy of the area, honor the White Horse Bar’s historical and current significance for the LGBTQ community, and celebrate Oakland as a proud LGBTQ-friendly city.
